なぜセブ島に留学しようと思ったのか？

The reason why I study English here is because I thought it was nearer and cheaper than USA, Canada, and Australia.

It was convenient for me to have a direct flight from Narita airport for about 5 hours.

アメリカ、カナダ、オーストラリアと比べ、安くて近いというのがセブ島に留学を決めた理由です。

成田空港から直通便で約５時間なので、快適でした。

実際に留学してみての感想

My impression is almost satisfied. But honestly speaking, the hotel is not as good as I expected. If I could come here again, I wanted to stay in a upgraded hotel which is clean, quiet, and decent even though I have no choice to deal with heavy traffic and bad air outside.

大満足です。しかし、私は今回ウォーターフロントホテルに宿泊したのですが、イメージしていたリゾートホテルとは少し違いました。次回に留学するときには、より綺麗で静かなもう１つグレードの高いホテル（ラディソンブルー・ホテル）に宿泊しようと思います。

But I had no scary experience at all.

セブ島滞在中に怖い思いをしたことは一度もありませんでした。

当校のシステム、講師に関して

My teacher is Ms. Angelica who teaches me very politely and eagerly when I make mistakes many times. She teaches me how to pronounce words correctly with her smile. She has a large stock of knowledge.

I have been leaning English in Japan for more than 30 years. But so far, she is the best one. I agree with this school’s system. However, I have serious problems about the classroom that is too small, and lobby too, the lighting is a bit dark, and I’m not comfortable that sitting on the sofa because the quality is not good.

担任はアンジェリカ先生でした。私が何度間違えても、いつも笑顔でとても丁寧で熱心に教えてくれ、特に私の英語の発音は何度も訂正してくれました。

日本でもネイティブの先生と３０年以上英語の勉強をしてきましたが、アンジェリカ先生はその中でNo.1の先生です。

１人の担任の先生が授業をするユニバースのシステムには非常に共感できます。

問題点があるとすれば、教室とロビーが少し狭いことくらいでしょうか。

英語の上達に関して

As a result, I could improve my English skill so much. Especially, in correct pronounciation. After finishing my lesson, I did my homework which is to write the diary every day in my hotel.

I studied hard like an examinee, which was 50 years ago.

英語能力は留学を通して非常に伸びたと思います。特に正しい発音を身につけることができました。

担任の先生からは、毎日英語で日記を書く宿題を出してもらい、５０年前の受験生の頃のように勉強していました。

今後の目標について

I am almost 67 years old, but my goal is to be able to speak like a native speaker. I love the quote, “It doesn’t matter how slowly you go as long as you don’t stop.”written on the wall at my classroom.

The last thing I want to say, one of the key points fro me to decide to come here in Cebu is because of Mr Shuto’s blog.

It really helped me because he keeps on posting a different article every day.

I could know many things about this school and the restaurants, coffee shops, expecially the videos he took in each hotel.

私は現在６７歳ですが、ネイティブスピーカーのように流暢に話せるようになることが目標です。

アンジェリカ先生の教室に書いてあった”It doesn’t matter how slowly you go as long as you don’t stop.(立ち止まらない限り、どれだけゆっくり歩もうが問題ではない)”という言葉が印象に残っています。

最後に、私がユニバースに留学をする決め手となったのは、学校のブログです。

古屋さんの書いているブログで、毎日学校付近の様子やホテルの様子などが投稿されていて、様々なことが知ることができました。
