Exactly 5 years now a huge incident shocked the whole word and that was  Japan earthquake and tsunami. A devastating 9.0 magnitude struck offshore, creating a huge waves that flushed out the northeast coast of Japan and left more than 230,00 people killed and more than 2, 500 people went missing. This has been one of the most devastating and heart-wrenching events in our history. Japan is known to be one of the strongest country in the world but such incidents made us witness their real strength. Despite of the huge challenge that they faced right after the incident, Japanese were able to cope up with it just few years after. They may have lost a lot but they proved to the world that such dilemma would be surpassed if all people just believe and help each other. The braveness and courage of the Japanese inspires the whole world including the Filipinos. Philippines is way far from Japan espeacially in terms of the economic development but we sympathize with them by showing support even in our own little way. Pres. Benigno Aquino visited Japan on  that same year to show the support of the Filipinos. Until now the friendship of these two countries is getting stronger.

Due to this incident Filipinos honor and respect Japanese more. Now, Japan is continuing to fully recover from that incident and we Filipinos always hope for the best and safety of Japan. May God spare Japan from any other calamities.

ちょうど今から5年前世界を震撼させる大地震と津波が日本で起こりました。震源地は日本の沖合いで、マグニチュード９．０は日本の北東の海岸に大きな波とスプラッシュをもたらし、23万人の人々が泣くなり、いまだに2500人以上の人々が行方不明です。これは、人類史上でももっとも悲しい歴史の一つとなりました。日本は世界でも有数の強い国ですが、そのような国ですら我々、外国人に日本で何が起こったかそしてどれだけ強い底時からのある国かを目撃することになりました。

これから復興する様々なチャレンジやそしてあの災害のあと日本は数年でかなり元通りになりました。日本は多くを失いましたがお互い助け合いの精神の元ジレンマなども乗り越えています。その日本人の勇気と底力は世界中そしてフィリピンの人々の心に響きました。フィリピンは日本に比べて特に経済的には遅れています、しかし、私たちフィリピン人に出来る限りしい小さいことですがサポートをしています。これらは我々も心から同情したからです。震災の後、アキノ大統領は同じ年に日本にお悔やみに訪れフィリピンを代表してフィリピンからのサポートを表明しました。その後、フィリピンと日本の交友関係今まで以上に強い絆で結ばれました。

この震災でフィリピン人はもっと日本人のことを歓迎し尊敬するようになりました。今、日本は復興の最中です、心より日本に完全な復興とそして安全をお祈りします。
